Cancel/Test Alarm
To cancel a false alarm:
Dial 1-800-729-8324 immediately with your name, pass code, Account number(If available), and ask them to cancel the dispatch of authorities. There is no guarantee that they will be able to cancel the dispatched authorities, so please try to call as soon as possible.
If you think a device has malfunctioned, please follow the steps below to test it and contact the service office for a service call.
To test your security system:
-
ALWAYS call the central station to put your alarm on test. Dial: 1-800-729-8324 They will want to verify your pass code and they’ll want to know how long to place your account on test for. While your system is on test the central station will not dispatch the authorities or call to notify you.
-
Arm your system as you normally do. This includes opening and closing the exit door except stay inside and stay very still if you have motion detectors.
-
Wait for your delay beeping to stop and the system to be armed, usually 30-120 seconds.
-
Walk through your home in front of each motion detector and open every door/window with a contact on it. You can also test your panic buttons at your keypad and any wired or wireless panic buttons you may have, but please be sure to notify the central station that you will be testing the panic devices. The siren should sound and it may be loud. If you open a delay door first your entry delay will sound instead of the siren. Please do not enter your code at this time and let the delay run out and the siren sound. The siren is much louder than the entry delay beeping at your keypad.
-
Once you’ve gone through every device, disarm your system twice. The first disarm will silence the siren, the second disarm will reset it.
-
Dial the central station and make sure they have received all of your alarmed zones. They should be able to see each one in order of how you tripped them.
-
If the siren doesn’t sound or if the central station doesn’t receive your signals, you may need a service call. Please call or contact our office at 269-381-2100, 269-962-2100 or 616-235-2100 and press 2 for service.
Some devices require professionals to test them such as glass break devices and smoke/heat detectors. It is recommended by the manufacturer of your security system for you to test your system weekly and to have a professional inspection completed no less than once a year. We offer an annual inspection plan where you pay a small monthly fee in addition to your monitoring and we automatically schedule your inspection once a year. Please contact the service department for further details.
